The Social Security Number (SSN) is a nine-digit number issued to U.S. citizens by the Social Security Administration, permanent residents, and temporary residents.
When issued, the SSN has nine digits. Area numbers between 734–749 or above 772 are not allocated. Invalid group patterns (all zeros, 666, 900–999 in the first group) are excluded. (wikipedia)
The SSN generator uses valid group numbers per area. Some numbers (e.g. all zeros in any group, 666 or 900–999 in the first group) are never allocated. Numbers are now assigned randomly.
This tool was developed for programmers and testers who have the constant need to enter different SSN numbers in developing forms.
